Starting this September, passengers will have up to two flights per day to the Irish capital.

Head of commercial at Emerald Airlines Ian Lough said: "Reflecting customer demand, we are delighted to be increasing our services between Aberdeen and Dublin.

“Passengers will now have access to even more convenient timings, allowing for greater choice and flexibility in their travel plans.

“Whether it's for business or leisure, our increased frequency ensures that passengers can visit Ireland with ease, year-round.”

Aero director at AGS Airports Chris Tibbett said: “We welcome these additional flights connecting Aberdeen to the Irish capital, offering even more choices to customers and further opening up Aer Lingus’ vast north American network.

“It is now easier than ever, not only for Aberdonians to visit Dublin but also for visitors from Ireland to visit the north-east of Scotland and explore the beauty our region has to offer.”

Aer Lingus Regional will operate up to two daily flights on key days of the week — Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday — enabling passengers to enjoy weekend getaways to the Irish capital.

For those looking to explore more of Ireland during their stay, Aer Lingus Regional also provides a twice daily service from Dublin Airport to the north-west of Ireland, Donegal.

The Aberdeen-Dublin route will facilitate onward connectivity from Aberdeen to North America; New York, Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Philadelphia, and Toronto.

Passengers flying into the US can avail of US Immigration pre-clearance at Dublin Airport, skipping any lengthy immigration queues stateside.
