Aberdeenshire Council is inviting communities to play an active role in a forthcoming engagement process focusing on the north-east coastal path corridor.
As well as exploring potential investment in the corridor and its infrastructure, the Coast Aberdeenshire project will look to identify existing and proposed community projects and initiatives which will further enhance both the local and visitor experience.
The council recently engaged Alan Jones Associates to oversee the £25,000 project - funded by the Coastal Communities Fund - which will initially look at improved integration and management of the 50-mile stretch of coastal paths and local resources from Cullen to Peterhead.
It is hoped that the results of this wide-reaching engagement with the public, businesses, stakeholders and key groups will determine the level of awareness of the coastal paths and the extent to which people make use of it.
Feedback will also help develop future funding approaches for improvements to the paths, supporting infrastructure and community projects located on the routes.
An online survey is now open for completion before February 5 here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/aberdeenshirect
For those who wish to receive a paper copy of the survey, please contact Alan Jones Associates on 07718 828088.
In addition to the online survey, the project team will be holding a series of online presentation and discussions on Thursday January 28 at 11am and 7pm and again on Monday, February 1 at 11am and 7pm
