An independent business stocking clothes for women of all sizes has opened their first permanent shop in Aberdeen’s city centre after hosting a series of pop-up shops across the north east.

Style For Your Shape is the first fully size inclusive boutique to open in Aberdeen, and indeed north of the Central Belt.

The founder, Victoria Mutch, started the business in October 2020 with the aim to help women of all shapes and sizes be able to shop on the high street.

Speaking on this milestone Victoria, who grew up in Macduff, said: “When I started the business I wanted to create a safe place where women could come and shop and have a great experience, so that they left feeling confident and looking fabulous.

"I don’t focus on the size on the label, I always go by the fit and that’s why the personal shopping service we have instore is so important.

"You can come into the shop and one of the team are happy to help give advice and choose styles that will suit your body shape.

"It’s incredible to see the business going from something I started in my spare room and running pop-up shops, to now having my own premises on Schoolhill in Aberdeen.”

Style For Your Shape had semi-permanent premises within Curated Aberdeen in the Bon Accord Centre from October to June, supporting the charity Charlie House.

During their time at Curated Aberdeen, the business contributed £5,000 to the charity through the rent costs for the floor space and additional fundraising from fashion shows.

Going from strength to strength, Style For Your Shape were also nominated by their customers in the Scotland’s Business Awards for the Aberdeen and Shire region, and last month they were announced as the winner for Best Fashion Boutique in Aberdeen and the Shire.

They will now go on to compete in the National Awards which take place in Glasgow in November.

The shop stocks womenswear in sizes 8-28, with everything from smart casual wear, workwear and are now specialising in occasion wear for all different events.

The boutique is open every Tuesday-Sunday at 2 Schoolhill.

Now Victoria is working on plans for an autumn/winter fashion show to take place next month and launching her newly re-vamped website later this month.
