New chief executive Andy Eagle takes up post with Aberdeen Performing Arts

Aberdeen Performing Arts has welcomed new Chief Executive Andy Eagle.

He has taken up post at the helm of the arts organisation which runs His Majesty’s Theatre, the Music Hall and the Lemon Tree, as well as producing major festivals in the city including crime fiction fixture Granite Noir, music festival True North and youth arts extravaganza Light The Blue.

Commenting Andy said: “This is a really exciting time for Aberdeen Performing Arts with lots of projects on the go and plenty of ideas and plans to get working on, and in just a few weeks we kick off our September of festivals and events with Wonderland, Wonder Hoose and True North all taking shape.

"I’ve had a warm welcome from the team, it’s looking like a bright and exciting future and I can’t wait to get stuck in."

Andy joins Aberdeen Performing Arts from Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff, and has more than 20 years’ experience working in professional and community arts in Wales.

Chairperson of the Board of Aberdeen Performing Arts Craig Pike said: “We are delighted to have welcomed Andy to Aberdeen.

"His wealth of experience and vision will be a wonderful asset to us all at Aberdeen Performing Arts and we look forward to what’s in store.”
