The Grampian Transport Museum’s new season is already a roaring success a visitors head to Alford to take in this year's displays.

Displays include a Formula 1 Jaguar race car, who’s lineage can be traced back to the team originally created by Scottish F1 World Champion Jackie Stewart and his son Paul.

A MANN steam tractor on loan from local Mike Dreelan joins the line up while items from the personal collection of Guy Martin return to the mix.

Opened in 1859 it serviced the world-renowned granite quarries at Kemnay and Tillyfourie, and the original Aberdeen Angus cattle breeder, William McCombie of Home Farm, Tillyfour.”

The museum always has a Ford Model T on display as the most significant car ever built in the history of motoring and this year’s version is of special local interest as it is a completely original 1924 local baker’s van.

One of the most eye-catching exhibits is the the late Bob Lailey's 1941 Dodge Luxury Liner street rod which was brought over from Canada to go on show.

Popular climb aboard exhibits which were greatly missed by visitors last year have been able to be reopened including the Mack snowplough and the Cruden Bay tram.

Changes are also ongoing externally with work underway to form the Hydrogen bus display outside and installation almost finished on the 27kW solar power bank and battery storage set up.
