A jubilee coffee morning hosted by Turriff Legion on Saturday raised over £900.

As well as the opportunity for a fly cup with friends and family, the event boasted an array of stalls including crafts, home bakes and a tombola.

Volunteer Sue Edwards said: "We were so busy, and everyone was delighted at the many kinds of entertainments we had.

"We knew we had done well, but never thought we would get the amount we did.

"We took £901.17, a wonderful amount!

"It was hard work getting it all together, but worth it to achieve so much which will go to the different veteran associations.

"May we take this opportunity of thanking everyone who attended, and also to those who contributed in whatever way - we do appreciate your support."
