New figures show 75 deaths from 318 coronavirus cases in Aberdeenshire

A TOTAL of 75 people in Aberdeenshire have lost their lives to coronavirus, with 318 people across the area having tested positive for the disease.
The National Records of Scotland are now releasing covid-19 data by local authority, as well as by health board.
Aberdeenshire, which has a population of 261,500, has the ninth most deaths of any constituency across Scotland, and the 12th most cases.
The size of the population with regard other areas must, however, be taken into account. Aberdeenshire has seen 0.12 infections per 100 residents, a rate only higher than Moray and Highland on the mainland.
Neighbouring Moray (pop: 95,500) has recorded 36 cases and six deaths and Aberdeen City (pop: 227,500) has seen 48 deaths from 448 cases.
Together with those two local authorities, Aberdeenshire comes under the NHS Grampian health board, which has seen 782 confirmed cases and 129 deaths. Eleven cases have not been broken down into local authority.

Scotland-wide, 2272 people have died due to coronavirus, according to NRS figures. That includes all deaths where coronavirus was mentioned on the death certificate, even if they person hadn't tested positive for the disease.
A total of 1415 people have tested positive for the virus and died within 28 days. This is the number shown in the daily update provided by the Scottish Government.
NHS Grampian are keen to ensure that people in Aberdeenshire keep working to combat coronavirus.
A spokesperson said: "It's important we keep a close eye on the the local data coming through and how we interpret it.
"Things move so quickly, but the message remains the same: we all have a duty to adhere to the guidelines and keep everyone safe.
"We want people not to become complacent during this time.
"It is so important to keep up the good work in our communities. Thank you to the people of Aberdeenshire."
