Cera Care has announced 20 new jobs for local care workers across Moray as the company expands.

The company, which acquired Mears Care Scotland last month, has grown over the last four years to become one of the largest health-technology companies in Europe.

Niki Leslie, the manager at the firm's Elgin office said: "Due to the increased social distancing guidelines and restrictions which prevent some families from visiting loved ones, there has been a big increase in the demand for care at home services.

"These 20 new jobs are to deliver services to people in their own homes, enabling them to remain living independently.

"I wish to thank our team of care workers across Moray for all their hard work and continued efforts during this very difficult time.

"It is greatly appreciated.

"Following procedures and often being the only person visiting someone living alone during the pandemic, they have gone above and beyond in their daily tasks.

"In these challenging times when many jobs in other sectors are at risk of redundancy, we welcome new recruits who have a background working in retail, manufacturing, hospitality, tourism and elsewhere.

"Many find enormous job satisfaction in knowing their input makes a difference to the quality of life of those they care for."
