A SPECIAL operation will take place throughout Moray next week to tackle the problem of dog fouling.
Operation Typhoon will run from May 9-13 and see both high visibility and plain clothed patrols enforcing dog fouling legislation. Dog owners seen failing to clean up after their dogs will be issued with an £80 fixed penalty.
The operation has been initiated as a result of numerous complaints of dog fouling throughout Moray and patrols will target areas which have been identified as being problem areas for dog fouling, either by community wardens or by complaints received from the public.
The main aim of the initiative is to reduce dog fouling incidents and improve dog fouling detection rates.
The Grampian Group PUP (Pick Up the Poo) campaign continues to tackle the problem of dog fouling and will be accompanying some of the Operation Typhoon patrols as they visit Keith and Buckie.
