ONE of the area’s biggest parades of service personnel and veterans will take place in Keith on Saturday (June 20).

The final Moray Armed Forces Day will involve more than 150 serving military personnel, from Kinloss Barracks and RAF Lossiemouth, veterans and cadets marching the length of Mid Street to Reidhaven Square.

The parade will muster at the junction of Union Street and Mid Street at 1.30pm and will march up Mid Street at 2pm to the sounds of the RAF Lossiemouth Pipes and Drums.

In Reidhaven square the salute will be taken by Clare Russell, Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire.

Moray Council convener Allan Wright said: "I do hope there is a good turnout. I’m confident that the people of Keith and the surrounding area will rise to the occasion and show the RAF and the Army just how much they are appreciated."
