Rail link service boost for Inverurie

Commuters travelling between Inverurie and Aberdeen are set to see an increase in rail services from next month.

The new timetable comes into effect on Sunday, December 15 and introduces extra trains as part of improvement of services to Inverness along with new cross-rail links which terminate at Montrose serving the route south of Aberdeen.

With the completion of the second line, more trains can now as services are not held at Dyce waiting to pass each.

On Monday to Saturday, services to Aberdeen now leave Inverurie starting from 6.37am with eight trains before 9am, an approximately half-hour service till evening and a last train at 11.17pm.

This is repeated outbound with the last train to Inverurie leaving Aberdeen at 10.50pm

Sunday service increases to 11 trains per day leaving Inverurie at 11.03am and the last at 10.49pm, while Aberdeen outbound start at 10.02am and finish at 9.28pm.

Scotrail are also advising passengers of Christmas and New Year train times which can be found at https://www.scotrail.co.uk/christmas and in particular severe disruption on services to Edinburgh after Christmas due to line closures at Haymarket.
