AS THE end of 2019 approaches, the thoughts of the brethren of the Lodges in Garioch are turning to the Installations of the Masters and office bearers for the next year.
Although some of the Lodges in the province have already held their Installations, the first of the local Lodges, Lodge St. Andrew No. 228 in Insch will hold their one this Saturday at 2pm in the village's Masonic Temple.
Both Lodge Royal Ancient No. 1179 in Kintore and Lodge St Mary's No. 1287 in Fyvie will be holding their annual general meeting (AGM) and election of office bearers on Tuesday, December 10 and Wednesday, December 11 respectively.
On Monday, December 2, Lodge St Anthony No. 154 in Inverurie will be working a practice 2nd degree having already held their AGM.
This meeting will be held within the Masonic Temple in Inverurie and will start at 7:30pm.
Although this is only a practice degree, after a brief sojourn to Lodge Royal Braemar No. 1195, the Travelling Trowel has been recaptured by St. Anthony and will be available for the first capture of the new season.
Although neither Lodge will be working a degree on these evenings, visitors will still be made most welcome at both meetings.
Commenting, RWM of Lodge St. Anthony No. 154, Brian RG Morton said: “If anyone is interested in finding out more about the organisation, any of the Lodge secretaries will be pleased to arrange a meeting.
“We are not a secret society, but a society with secrets.”
