Aberdeen and Northern Marts (ANM) will host its 30th anniversary show and sale of store cattle at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie, on Friday, January 3.

The annual event, which will feature 1200 head of cattle, marks not only the 30th anniversary of Thainstone Centre but also the introduction of the newly revised commission rates for ANM members which are now as low as 3 per cent and industry leading in Scotland.

“We are delighted to celebrate our 30th year here at Thainstone with this special anniversary show and sale,” said John Angus, head of livestock at Aberdeen and Northern Marts.

“We are particularly proud of our heritage here and will continue to provide our customers with our state-of-the-art facilities and service which is second to none.

"Our newly revised commission rates are a real commitment to supporting the agricultural community during tough trading times.”

The anniversary show and sale, sponsored by Thomson of Sauchen, includes annual consignments of top-quality store cattle from leading producers in the north-east, as well as a special consignment of 80 black Limousin cross and British Blue cross bulling heifers from Moir Livestock, Home Farm, Cairness, Fraserburgh.

Proceedings commence with the show at 8.30am in ring 2, followed by the sale at 10am.

Father and son team Gavin and Stuart Ross, who run a large-scale finishing operation at Wardhead, Strichen, will have the task of judging all classes.

To celebrate 30 years at Thainstone and reward member loyalty, ANM is pleased to offer all members, who present their membership card on the day, a free bacon roll before 11am in the Gallery restaurant.
