FESTIVE FOODS, fare and fun were on the menu at Fetternear Hall's Christmas fair on Saturday as over £400 was raised.

The hall was filled to the brim with the work of local crafts folk, homebakes, fresh bread and other goodies, as visitors from near and far took the opportunity to seek out unusual Christmas presents.

The stall occupied by local craftswoman Milena Skaloudova attracted considerable attention.

It featured Milena's mosaics, intricate pictures she creates using recycled materials, such as coloured glass, pottery pieces and beads on a base of slate slabs.

Inverurie artist Madge Walker - who describes her artwork as "a very therapeutic hobby" - and her daughter Audrey Masson were also kept busy with her stand of handmade greeting cards to suit every occasion.

Commenting, chairwoman of the Fetternear Hall committee Elsie Aiken said: "We are delighted with the support we had for our fair which made it such a success.

"We raised over £400."
