Enterprising pupils from across the north-east headed to Inverurie Town Hall to market their innovative and creative recycled products at this year’s Young Enterprise fair.

Organised by Young Enterprise Grampian which promotes entrepreneurial skills, each year secondary school pupils come together to form groups which will create, market and sell home produced items.

Inverurie Academy group DiscoverYE looked at recycling CDs into new items, which included lightboxes made out of the repurposed clear cases.

Ellon Academy group Dazzled Accesories used scrap material to produce new hair bands and hair clips, while fellow Academy group Warpd turned to old vinyl records for inspiration.

Thanks to donations, they were able to make hand made bowls, coasters and also created bottle lights.

Also attending were pupils from Hazelhead, Lochside, Oldmachar and Mearns Academies whose items included sensory boards, bee's wax and honey and Christmas ornaments made from recycled wood where pinecones and branches were transformed into display items.
