Glenglassaugh Distillery – standing on the Moray Firth coast at the edge of Sandend Bay – lay silent and forgotten for over two decades.
Its heritage stretches back to 1875 when the distillery was founded by James Moir. After being completely re-built in 1960, the distillery continued to produce whisky until 1986 when it was mothballed.
The distillery sat silent for over 20 years until 2008, when production was restarted. The re-awakened distillery has continued producing a luscious coastal malt shaped by the rich abundance of land and sea, giving you rolling waves of flavour.
There are a range of tours on offer from a journey through our coastal distillery, to a behind-the-scenes tour with premium tasting. A 'bottle your own' cask is also exclusively available at the distillery for purchase.
