Less than 24 hours to register to vote in European elections

The deadline to register to vote in the European elections on May 23 is approaching.

Only people who are registered will be able to cast their vote on the day.

The process takes around five minutes can be completed online at www.gov.uk/registertovote before the May 7 deadline.

You only need to register once - you do not need to register separately for every election but you must register again if you’ve changed address, name or nationality.

Online registration can also be used to apply to vote by post or by proxy.

Before you go online, have ready your National Insurance number if you have one and your passport if you’re a British citizen living abroad, and want to vote in Scotland, England or Wales
