In Huntly, Police Scotland officers on routine calls now aim to make the time to drop in on shops, cafes and businesses to raise their profile and to speak face to face with members of the public.

Members welcomed the initiative as a move towards re-establishing community policing.

Council member, Freda McRae said that she hoped while on the beat officers would deal with drivers who continue to park their vehicles too close to junctions and create a hazard for other drivers and pedestrians.
