The closure will require a lengthy diversion for those planning to access Deveron road from the A96.

Deveron Road will be closed to nearly all traffic for the works, undertaken by A&A Civils, at its junction with the A96 trunk road.

The sewer works require a close between the A96 and Deveron Way for 39 days, from July 24 to September 1.

A diversion require cars to continue down the A96, take the junction at George V Avenue, then use Gordon Street, Market Street and King Street to reach Deveron Road.

Access will be provided for vehicles requiring property access but this may be subject to delay until the road is cleared of construction plant, to allow safe passage through the works.

An Aberdeenshire Council spokesperson said: "We apologise for any inconvenience while this essential work takes place and please allow extra time for your journey if you need to make use of the diversion"
