ELLON Cinema will screen popular musical 42nd Street this Sunday from 3pm.

Described by critics as "glorious" and an "utterly moreish extravaganza of glitz", 42nd Street is the legendary Broadway musical theatre classic that tells the story of Peggy Sawyer - a talented young performer with stars in her eyes who gets her big break on Broadway.

This is the largest ever staging of the Tony Award winning musical, which was was filmed live at the Theatre Royal in the heart of London’s West End specially for cinema.

Starring national treasure Bonnie Langford as Dorothy Brock and featuring iconic songs including 42nd Street, We’re In The Money, Lullaby Of Broadway, Shuffle Off To Buffalo, Dames and I Only Have Eyes For You, this is an opportunity for all lovers of theatre to experience the magic of musical theatre - in HD with surround sound - right on their doorstep.

The Ellon Cinema team are delighted to be able to screen this production at the same time as cinemas nationwide, and will be offering an additional feature to make it a truly grand afternoon treat.

For this screening seating will be at tables in cabaret style to permit viewers to bring their own picnic to enjoy with their friends and colleagues.

Next weekend, on Saturday November 16, the cinema will have a special family afternoon with screenings of Abominable and Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil.
