The master of ceremonies for the evening was John McAllister, who expertly led proceedings starting with some recitations of poetry written by Scots from the children of Methlick Primary School.

The Selkirk Grace was given by Reverend Dr Will Stalder before the haggis was brought in by George Fowler, led by piper David Fraser.

A rousing rendition of Address Tae A Haggis was performed by Colin Gallacher before guests tucked in to haggis, mince, neeps and tatties followed by trifle or jelly.

Guests listened intently to Reverend Alison Swindells Immortal Memory before the traditional Toast To The Lassies was given by Cryle Shand, with Louise McGregor responding.

There was also entertainment from local dancers and from fiddler Elspeth Macpherson.
