Foyer Reach course set to kick off

On Monday Ellon's Foyer Reach will start their new programme which follows a weekly structure based on community involvement, personal development, well being and employability learning.

The 12 week free Employability Programme is open to the Ellon, Mintlaw, Newburgh,Oldmeldrum, Balmedie and surrounding areas.

The Ellon's Reach Team 15 will run at the Ellon College Community Campus from Monday, January 13 until Thursday,April 2.

It is for people aged 16 to 65 in recovery from health and well-being challenges whether physical, mental (including social isolation and lack of confidence) or dependency related.

Foyer Reach are working in partnership with Aberdeenshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership and North East Scotland College.

Participants will gain a City and Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Employability Skills, the REHIS Food Hygiene Certificate, First Aid at Work Certificate and Volunteering opportunities will also be available.

Workshops will take place focused on well being and goal-setting for the future.

Foyer Reach's Anne Kain said: "We will work in partnership with other agencies to ensure specific recovery support is available to those who need it, as well as peer mentoring and service user involvement opportunities."

There will be a free ‘breakfast club’ providing toast and cereals, and other healthy options.

Lunch will also be provided.
