TICKETS are on sale now for a Burns supper and ceilidh raising money for the Aberdeenshire North Foodbank.

A similar event took place earlier this year raising £5000 for the life changing charity, and following its success organisers decided to bring it back for 2020.

Taking place in the Dr Spence Memorial Hall in Udny Green on January 11, all proceeds from the event will go towards helping the foodbank to provide emergency food parcels for individuals and families in crisis.

The packed evening of entertainment will be overseen by masters of ceremony Mark Stephen and Euan McWraith, dancing will be to local band Tolquhon and there is a licensed bar.

The programme will also include music from talented fiddle player Jack Christie.

Organiser Jeannie Price said: “We were blown away by the support we received for this year’s event, which was the first in the village for 20 years.

"We raised over £5000 which was a real boost for the Foodbank.

“It would be grand if we could beat that amount this time."

The organisers are on the look out for donations of raffle prizes, and any local businesses who are interested in supporting the event are encourged to get in touch.

For more information and tickets you can e-mail: AbFabfundraising@gmail.com.

Tickets are priced at £30 per head and are non refundable.

Vegetarian food must be requested in advance and any special dietary requirements noted.
