There was a good turnout to see Santa open this year's Pitmedden lights switch on.

As the crowds perused various fundraising stalls and enjoyed some warming soup and monster hot dogs provided by Oldmeldrum and Daviot Scouts they also had the opportunity to meet popular characters, including Batman and Princess Merida.

Families queued up for the opportunity to meet Santa and his elves in his grotto, and to make sure he had heard all of their Christmas wishes.

Further entertainment was provided by DJ Ray and the cast of the upcoming Udny and Pitmedden Pantomime.

Following the switching on of the lights revellers enjoyed a pyrotechnic display by Fireworx Scotland.
