As people go to the polls across the country on Thursday Ellon based brewer BrewDog have announced the return of their Vote Punk campaign, and have pledged to buy every voter a pint for doing their democratic duty.

The brewer is pledging that every voter can have a pint on them for doing their democratic duty.

To receive your free pint of Punk IPA, customers simply have to show a selfie photo taken outside a polling station in any UK BrewDog Bar on General Election day.

Vote Punk first appeared during the 2017 General Election, with thousands of pints of the brewer’s flagship Punk IPA given out to people who had cast their ballot on the day. Irrespective of which political party secured the vote, BrewDog toasted the democratic contribution and are set to do so again as this General Election takes place.

The offer will be running throughout General Election day itself – Thursday December 12, for those who voted in person; voters who cast their ballot by post can also show their postal registration confirmation email at any UK BrewDog Bar on the same day to qualify.

Founder of BrewDog James Watt said: “Casting a vote is any citizen’s duty and a responsibility not to be taken lightly.

“That’s why we are rewarding anyone who votes in this General Election with a Punk IPA on us.

“We’re not affiliated with any political party or movement, choosing to settle our differences over a pint instead, and now we can offer you the chance to do both – voting on the 12th and then having a beer on us the same day.”

“Voting is its own reward, but since 2017 we have gone further and doubled that reward with a Punk IPA on us for anyone who exercises their democratic right.

“On December 12th we want to see as many Polling Station selfies as we can in our Bars, and will ensure that whoever you voted for, we can all agree that if you Vote Punk, everyone wins.”
