Ellon Co-op's member pioneer Barbara Last recently visited 2nd Ellon Brownies to see how the group had invested the £1400 they received from the Community Fund back in November.

District Commissioner for Girlguiding Ellon Arlene Dunbar, leader Joyce Dryburgh and the Brownies had great delight in showing off their recently finished kitchen.

The kitchen has new splashback and hand drier in the girl’s toilet reducing paper towel consumption.

While the hall and side rooms have had a freshen up being painted in wonderful bright engaging colours.

When asked what the Co-op Big Community Payout has meant for Ellon Girlguiding, Arlene Dunbar added: "Here in Ellon we are so fortunate to have our own Girlguiding premises.

"However, having our own building means the expense of upkeep and maintenance.

"The funding from the Co-op has allowed to complete many tasks and keep our hall up to date.

"We also plan to do some works to improve our garden space too. We are really thankful for the Co-op’s support from the Big Community Fund.

"Plus the Co-op helped us with supplies for a Girl guiding summer picnic last year and that also made a real difference."

The Co-op 2020 Community Fund is due to open spring.
