Co-op invests in local community of Ellon
The Co-op in Ellon are supporting Rainbow Rogues, Ellon Men's Shed and Ellon Castle Gardens for the Community Fund this year.
In North Aberdeenshire and including Orkney and Shetland the firm have 10 new member pioneers.
Co-op's Barbara Last works with colleagues from Co-op Esslemont Food Store and Co-op Funeralcare to support the three local causes that will benefit from funds raised by the fund.
Recently the Co-op's Scott Wilson, Vicky Prendergast and Barbara Last met with the members of the chosen causes to discuss and plan how Co-op can best support them this year.
All Co-op members can selected their preferred Ellon cause using the website or app, and 1 percent spent will go directly to the selected cause as well receiving 5 percent back for you on spend.
Barbara Last said: "I’m delighted to be Ellon’s Co-op member pioneer, as I have a real heart for the town.
"As well as supporting the local causes, I’m also here to support other Ellon community initiatives and events, as well as helping bringing people and my colleagues together.
"Here at the Co- op, we are focusing on protecting community spaces, health & well being and developing skills.
" I do plan to get in touch with local groups and causes to come and see what you get up to.
"We at the Co-op are passionate about making great things happen in our lovely town of Ellon."
Last year Victoria Hall Ellon, Ellon Girl Guiding and Auchnagatt Village Hall all benefited from the Co-op Community Fund.
Each cause received over £1300 plus.
