MOST students at Buckie Community High School may not be back at their desks yet, but that is no excuse to miss out on World Book Day (WBD).

Student will have a wide choice of activities for World Book Day at BCHS.

The school have in the past been avid supporters of the event, which is due to take place this Thursday, and BCHS librarian Stephen Leitch has created a suite of online options to get round lockdown restrictions.

He said: "What I’ve done is created a choice board of activities for pupils to explore and take part in.

"You can write a three word horror story, or do the ‘Who Is Reading’ quiz where you have to work out which member of staff is reading the book which is covering their face, make a cake inspired by a book, take the WBD book quiz, make your own mini note book or you can submit a photo under the heading of Get Caught Reading.

"I’m asking teachers to encourage pupils to try at least one of the activities. Pupils can get access to the choice board via their Guidance Team channel."

The choice board can also be accessed here.

Students can download the WBD £1 voucher, which can be exchanged for one of the specially produced WBD books, or used to save £1 on any other book.

Mr Leith added that the BCHS library does have some of the WBD £1 books which can be collected once students have returned to school.
