POLICE in Buckie are appealing for witnesses after a motorcycle was deliberately set on fire in Findochty.

The incident happened around 3am on Friday, December 17 in Cliff Street.

PC Davey Hall of Buckie police station said: “The motorbike was parked in the street when someone has purposely set it on fire. Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and the fire was quickly extinguished. The owner has had his means of transport completely destroyed in this malicious act.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity or knows who was responsible to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 0376 of December 17, 2021."

It follows on from an appeal by Buckie police following an incident of wilful fireraising in the town.

Officers received a report of a garden shed on fire at an address on Milton Drive around 9.45pm on Friday, December 10.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire safely. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
