May 2 saw visitors and locals alike make their way to Whale and Dolphin Conservation’s Scottish Dolphin Centre when they hosted their annual Really Wild Festival.

The event sough to celebrate Scotland’s great outdoors and the fantastic array of wildlife and heritage that Spey Bay has to offer.

Visitors young and old were presented with an event jam packed full of family fun activities and featuring a 7m outdoor climbing wall allowing kids and adults to see the spectacular views right across the Moray Firth.

Family activities were run by local charity Wildthings. There was also dolphin watching, tunes by Buckie District Pipe Band, tours around the largest Icehouse in the UK, local food and a marquee packed full of artisan crafters among a great many more attractions.

Lisa Farley, centre co-ordinator said: “The Really Wild Festival has become a great annual feature at the WDC Scottish Dolphin Centre.

“Visitors can come along and enjoy the outstanding natural beauty and wildlife on offer but [this year], there was even more to see and do than usual.

“We had so much for children and adults alike to enjoy.”

A special treat for those visitors who arrived by car was waiting in the form of a cart pulled by two Clydesdale horses, which was to be the ‘shuttlebus’ between the car park and the Dolphin Centre.
