A CARER at a Buckie care home made sure her residents joined in on her wedding celebrations after dropping in for a dance with them days later in her bridal gown.

Jackie Petrie, a carer at Netherha Care Home married sweetheart Darren at Cullen Bay this earlier month and was determined that residents join in the wedding celebrations.

She has worked at Netherha for 10 years and met Darren two years ago. The couple were married in the Cullen Bay Hotel surrounded by family and friends, including several members of the Netherha team.

Jackie said: “In the build up to the wedding, we often discussed plans with the residents so they were getting just as excited about the big day as I was.

"Due to Covid restrictions we were unable to invite some of the residents so Caroline Cameron, our activities co-ordinator, suggested we have a disco and asked if I would come with my dress on, so it was kind of like a mini wedding dance without the groom.

"I was delighted Caroline asked me to come with my dress on and show off to residents as I got the chance to wear it again.”
