YOUNG and old alike were celebrating the birthday of the Bard as Burns suppers were held across the Buckie area.

At Findochty Primary, P7 pupils Imogen Wright and Nathan McMillan addressed the haggis, which was carried in by headteacher Dawn Thomson to the strains of the pipes, played by Toby Geddes.

Over at Milne's Primary, local piper Robbie Innes led the way while cook Nancy Price brought in the guest of honour. The various addresses were shared by a number of pupils.

The Fishermen's Hall was to host the Buckie Rotary Burns supper, the marquee providing a grand setting for the event.

Buckie and District Community Choir provided the entertainment prior to the meal, with the haggis being piped in Norman Jamieson and carried by chef Glen Campbell. Addressing the haggis was Rotary member Robert Dawson.
