As part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2021, Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Moray and partners have joined forces once again to organise a Moray Parents/Carers and Young People Apprenticeship Event to help shed light on the many options available.

This event is suitable for any parents/guardians/carers/educators and young people in secondary school or who have left and would like to know more about apprenticeships in Moray.

Apprenticeships have changed significantly over the years and the apprenticeship family has also grown.

One of the many changes is that young people can now do an apprenticeship in their senior phase of secondary school with a local employer and Moray College UHI.

They can also choose to study a degree level apprenticeship with a university, gaining full-time employment and a wage.

In total, there are over 100 different types of apprenticeships on offer.

Those participating in the virtual event will be sent a link closer to the time after they have signed up.

During the first half of the event, expert speakers will give an overview of the apprenticeship family. Thereafter, participants will have the opportunity to go into breakout rooms of their choice with an expert, an employer who recruits these types of apprentices and a current apprentice.

This is an opportunity to find out how this apprenticeship works. There will be a breakout room about senior phase foundation apprenticeships, modern apprenticeships and graduate apprenticeships.

The event is due to take place on March 4 from 4.30pm to 6pm.
