AFTER two years of rules and restrictions there was a welcome sign of a return to normality when St Peter's Primary held their sports day recently.
Both the junior and senior school were able to take to the field again after a Covid enforced break of over two years. Strict rules meant that the usual gatherings and events which, in normal times were highlights of the school calendar, had to fall by the wayside.
However, the St Peter's youngsters certainly made the most of being back out on the sports field.
There was plenty to keep the pupils occupied with range of activities, including many old favourites.
Flat races tested pace and puff in the mad dash to be the first to take the tape.
Other events put a premium on balance as well as speed, with the likes of the beanbag race requiring a range of skills to be in with a chance of winning.
