THE snow which recently gripped Buckie and the north-east may have brought many things to a grinding halt, but that did not stop local folk venturing out to snap snowy scenes with their cameras.

Over these two pages of pictures we feature some photos submitted by readers showing some of their individual experiences of the snow and ice which gripped the area for almost a week.

Our staff photographers, Becky Saunderson and Daniel Forsyth, were also out and about capturing the effects of the sub-zero temperatures and, over Saturday and Sunday February 13-14, some of the chaos wrought by high winds causing snow to drift off the fields and onto the road.

At one point on the Saturday Buckie many surrounding communities remained cut off due to thick snow drifts, with the Spey Bay to Portgordon road at times remaining the only tenuous route in or out of the town.
