Small rise in Buckie Harbour fish landings

THERE was a slight rise in fish landings last week at Buckie Harbour.

In all some 466 boxes of fish/prawns/squid were brought ashore. No bags of clams were landed.

This compares to 413 boxes and 103 bags the previous week.

The vessels landing were: Our May; Pegasus; Lily Oak VI; Brantia; Intrepid; Boy Sam; Radiance; Chloe Ella; Flourish.

Two cargo boats called at Buckie last week.

First in was the Lithuanian-registered MV Lyrika on August 10. She arrived light from Oldenburg in Germany before exporting approximately 2250 tonnes of barley to Antwerp two days later.

MV Christine (Liberian) imported around 1010 tonnes of malt from Mistley on August 12 before sailing light on August 13.
