Boda Flowers in Buckie is closed until next week after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

Boda Flowers, on the town's West Cathcart Street, is closed until next week at least following a statement by shop owner Katie Chalmers on Facebook at the weekend.

She said: "So sad to be writing this but I feel that transparency is key just now before arms and legs are added.

"Our co worker has tested positive for Covid. We are distraught for her and her immediate family. The circumstances surrounding this situation are truly heartbreaking."

Mrs Chalmers and another colleague have tested negative for Covid-19, with Mrs Chalmers having been advised to self-isolate for 14 days as a standard precaution in these circumstances, this process beginning on August 11.

The other colleague tested is not required to self-isolate due to working alternate days to the infected employee.

Mrs Chalmers continued: "I think it’s only fit to shut until this period is over so there is no risk to anyone.

"If anyone has been in the shop from Tuesday [August 11] and is concerned then please get in touch. I would like to add we wear our masks, use santiser and have always taken the upmost precautions daily.

"Be kind people, do not jump to conclusions. This is not something we could have anticipated.

"Our thoughts remain with those affected by this.

I would personally like to thank everyone for their understanding and overwhelming support. It’s been very humbling.

"Boda will be back soon to carry on doing what we love doing.
