Officers wearing riot gear and carrying shields forced their way into the property at Wallace Avenue around lunchtime.

That followed a five hour stand-off at the scene, with an unknown number of occupants inside the upstairs flat.

Uniformed officers and police dog handlers were among those at the scene.

A cordon was thrown around the scene while efforts continued to gain access to the property.

It is understood five people were removed from the property.
