Their latest panto, Peter Pan, which will take to the stage in the Fishermen's Hall, will mark 60 years of the group performing pantos in Buckie.

The adaptation of this magical tale has been written by the group's artistic director Kevin J Oakes and with Vicki Slater as the group's musical Director. A large cast of 40 people is set to tread the boards to tell the story of the boy who never grew up.

Mr Oakes said: "As always we as a group promise a truly magical evenings entertainment for everyone.

"We as a group always have some amazing special effects hired in from the West End in London, over the years we have had large flying Cinderella’s carriage, a flying magic carpet, giant animatronic elephants, a fire breathing dragon and many more.

"This show will also prove some surprises for our audience. We have a amazing musical director Vicki Slater who will also be taking on the lead role of Peter Pan. Vicki has been an inspiration to the group and has an wonderful connection with all the members and encourages not only those who are musically gifted but everyone and develops their skills.

"I can truly say that the singing and the music is breathtaking, and the work and the talent, and also the commitment, that have been shown by all our members is amazing. Buckie Community Theatre are a fully inclusive group and are very proud of what we do.

"We have a fabulous team and I am extremely proud of this show and also the group.

"Tickets are now on sale for this truly beautiful and very funny panto. To book please call (01542) 488485 or Facebook Buckie Community Theatre."

Peter Pan will run from Wednesday to Saturday, February 5-8, with a matinee performance on the Saturday.
