BUCKIE could be set for a new takeaway outlet should planners give the go ahead.

An application had been lodged with Moray Council to grant change of use in order to convert a former butcher's shop on West Church Street into a hot food takeaway.

The premises, named in the application as coming under John Stewart Ltd, is at 29 West Church Street in the town. It is not currently being used.

The application was lodged by Grant and Geoghegan Ltd of Birnie, Elgin, on behalf of the applicant.
