Lockdown meant that Buckie Community Theatre Group (BCTG) were unable to stage their annual extravaganza for all ages – the first time in 63 years that has happened – but things are looking up for February 2022.

Auditions were held recently at the group's Logie's Lane centre for those aged 10 and over, with new and past members made most welcome. At stake were places in BCTG's latest production, the classic tale of Mother Goose.

The audition took the shape of a two hour workshop featuring singing, dance and script reading.

BCTG artistic director Kevin Oakes said: "Buckie Community Theatre are extremely proud of our past pantomimes and are delighted to get back to get back to doing what we all love.

"This year's panto will have all the Buckie community magic and amazing special effects as before with a whole new load of surprises."

The last panto staged by the theatre group was Peter Pan in February 2020, which attracted large audiences during its run in the Fishermen's Hall.
