WHAT would make you use the bus more often – that’s the question being asked of Moray residents, whose thoughts on public transport are being sought.

Local views will shape the £4 million Bus Revolution project included in Moray’s £100 million Growth Deal, which aims to transform the local bus offering – not to compete with existing services, but to plug the gaps, particularly for rural residents.

The project is being funded by the Scottish Government and Moray Council.

Moray’s award-winning on-demand bus service will be extended, with investment in low-carbon electric buses and the use of apps to improve response times and, ultimately, the customer experience. Facilities such as onboard wi-fi will also be considered.

Residents are being asked to fill out the survey to reflect their use and perception of public transport pre-Covid, considering factors like affordability, frequency of buses, reliability, distance to a bus stop, and convenience.

The online survey is live until the end of October, and responses will be viewed by the Bus Revolution project board.
