Major cash investments in Moray employment support

DEDICATED employability support for young people and low-income parents in Moray is being developed thanks to a six-figure cash injection.
A £120,000 investment is being made from the Parental Employment Support Fund (PESF), delivering intensive in and out of work support to help low-income parents progress into employment.
The programme includes support for those who are not ready for other formal training programmes, helping parents in work to upskill, and provides access to training.
Separately, around £570,000 is to be invested in the Local Employment Partnership, enhancing the ‘No-one left behind’ provision.
Local proposals include enhanced keyworker support, employer liaison, providing a wage subsidy for local employers to extend Kickstart placements and boosting our employer recruitment incentive. A training hub will be created within the Inkwell in Elgin to create an employability and training centre to tackle digital poverty and increase inclusion.
Chairman of the Moray Economic Partnership, Councillor Graham Leadbitter, said: “This vital support will help residents in Moray to access and make progress in employment.
"I’m delighted to see plans for the Moray Pathways hub at the Inkwell, providing specialist assistance to tackle digital poverty and improve inclusion.
“It’s an excellent example of the partnership approach of the Moray Pathways employability consortium, which is working to provide the best possible start in our young people’s career journey.”
