STAFF at Buckie High's Special Education Unit (SED) have been getting their dancing feet on as part of a global challenge.

There was some much-needed fun injected into the lockdown restrictions at the unit when the staff decided to cut a rug or two as part of the #JerusalamaDanceChallenge, a craze which went viral last year.

Their hilarity-filled efforts have been uploaded to YouTube and have gathered over 1500 views – and no doubt many a smile – already.

SED PT Sharon Aitken said: "Our youngsters and families were thrilled to bits when they saw the video and it was a great exercise for positive mental health and wellbeing amongst the staff.

"I had seen something about it online and it is definitely the first time we have done something like this. It was just for the staff to do but you never know once Covid is over there might be some of the pupils want to have a go!

"Maybe it would be good to challenge some other, workplaces, too. Mind you, some of us, especially me, could perhaps do with a few dance lessons from Strictly Come Dancing stars!"

The 2019 hit Jerusalema, which was sung by Master KG and Nomcebo Zikode, hit the headlines after clips of South African duo doing the #JerusalemaDanceChallenge went viral on social media.
