Diversions are in place after a landslip closed a road near Fochabers.

Heavy rain this week caused the landslip which has closed the Ordiquish road south of Fochabers, about 300m north of Culfoldie Farm.

The land to the side of the road at this point is steeply banked, and approximately 10m of this has slipped down towards the Burn of Aultderg some 40m below.

This has led to the edge of the road being undermined rendering it now liable to collapse.

The initial closure will be in place until the end of August, and diversion signs are in place to advise drivers of the detour.

Although closed to vehicle traffic the road is still open for use as the Speyside Way trail.

Barriers have been erected to guide pedestrians safely past the slip.
