Landings double at Buckie Harbour

THERE was a two-fold increase in the number of boxes of fish, prawns and squid landed at Buckie Harbour last week compared to the week before.

Some 370 boxes of fish were brought ashore, along with 189 of prawns and 593 of squid.

A total of 28 bags of clams were taken to the quayside.

This is significantly up on the combined figure of 569 boxes the week before, although no bags of clams were landed.

In all 26 vessles brought their catches ashore last week. They were: Blue Sky; Our May; White Heather IV; Jackdaw; Boy Sam; Lily Oak VI; Beverley Ann; Lee-Rose; Flourish; Blue Eye; Emerald Dawn; Soarsa; Skua; Deeside; Radiance; Transcend; Stella Maris; Prosperity; Camann II; Alisa; Emmaley; Brantia; Endeavour; Selina Joy; Prevail; Conquest.

As with the week before, no cargo vessels called at Buckie Harbour.
