VOTING has opened in the Moray and Banffshire Heroes awards.

There are 12 different categories and the winners will be revealed on Thursday, April 20 at Brodie Countryfayre.

A special Hero of Heroes will also be announced on the night.

You have until March 26 to cast your vote.

In the Carer of the Year (sponsored by Parklands Care Homes), couples James Baird and Janice Dougan, Anna and Alan Doughty and Bradley McMillan have been shortlisted for the final.

James and Janice, who run Loch Park Rural Skills Centre at Drummuir, go above and beyond to provide support and care for adults with learning difficulties and autism.

For over 30 years Dyke couple Anna and Alan have been opening both their homes and their hearts to children. Over the years they have fostered more than 50 kids, raising them as their own family.

Elgin teenager Bradley has made the finals shortlist for the consistent care he gives both his mum and brother. Mum Cheryl suffers from chronic back pain which severely limits what she can do while brother Deiniol (8) has been diagnosed with autism and ADHD.
