There is something for everyone over four separate days, culminating in a community picnic.

Kicking things off on Thursday, June 2 will be a jubilee duck race, which is due to get under starter's orders at 6pm from the bridge at Burnside Road. Ducks will be on sale soon.

Later that evening, the focus switches to the Public Institute for a Musical Evening for the Jubilee. The event, which is scheduled to start at 8pm, is set to feature Fochabers Community Choir and young musicians. The evening will also include a performance of Song for the Commonwealth.

Rounding off the evening will be a parade to Christie's Garden Centre for the lighting of the bonfire at 9.45pm.

The Friday will see the children's walking jubilee treasure hunt get under way. Youngsters will be invited to pick up a treasure quiz sheet and complete the hunt over the weekend. There will be prizes for winners.

Rounding off the weekend of celebrations will be the jubilee community picnic at the playing fields, East Street, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Families are invited to bring along their own picnic and there will also be a Village Association barbecue on hand, too. Fun and games will be available to help keep the kids entertained. All are welcome to attend.

Fochabers Heritage Centre have already got into the swing of things with a platinum jubilee exhibition, which has already opened. The centre is open Thursday to Sunday 1pm to 4pm. Entry to the museum is free although donations are appreciated.

The Village Association are inviting all businesses and shops to join in the celebrations by having a jubilee-themed window or display. Homes across the village are welcome to participate, too.
