Nominations for the poll closed earlier today.

Five candidates have thrown their hat into the ring: Tim Eagle (Scottish Conservative and Unionist); Keighly Goudie (Scottish Labour Party); Neil Houlden; John Stuart (Scottish National Party (SNP); Les Tarr (Scottish Liberal Democrats)

Moray Council's website – www.moray.gov.uk/elections – will shortly be updated with the formal Notice of Poll (List of candidates standing), Notice of Election Agents and Notice of Situation of Polling Places.

The by-election, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 3, was triggered by the resignation of Chris Price in August, citing time conflicts between his full-time job and his role as a councillor. Mr Price was one of three elected members return unopposed in May's local authority elections.
