At some point over last Saturday night and the early hours of Sunday morning a fishing boat sank at its moorings.

The vessel was almost completely submerged, with only various antenna and parts of equipment left showing above the water line.

A spokesperson for Moray Council said: “We’ve made safe the submerged vessel, and put some booms down to eliminate risk of pollution.

"The responsibility for the removal of the vessel lies with the owner.”

No injuries are believed to have resulted from the incident. At the time of writing it is not known what caused her to sink.
